Our CAS family hosted an elegant dinner on October 25, to express our gratitude to Rochester clients who have referred their friends or family members to our firm.

More than 50 clients joined our advisors and staff from the Rochester office at the Rabbit Room restaurant in Honeoye Falls, NY. In addition to a delicious meal, cocktails and great company, we treated our clients to “up-close magic” from Jimmy C.

Without a doubt, our 2016 Referral Dinner was a magical and memorable evening.

Thank you again to all of our Rochester clients who attended the event! We appreciate you spreading the word about our family-focused firm, and we are grateful for the opportunity to guide you towards your financial goals and vision for the future.

Join our Ciccarelli Advisory Services family on Friday, August 19 at Frontier Field to watch the Rochester Redwings play the Buffalo Bisons.

We invite you, your children and your grandchildren to join us for a delicious picnic dinner before the game and a phenomenal fireworks display immediately after the game.

We will meet you at our table – located outside the main gate – at 6 p.m., where you can pick up your tickets and enjoy your picnic dinner. The game will start at 7:15.

Please email Carol at CGurnow@CAS-RocNY.com by August 8 to reserve your tickets.

Because we have a limited number of seats available, please indicate how many family members will be in your party, as well as the ages of any children who will be joining us. In order to accommodate as many families as possible, we ask that you limit your reservation to eight tickets.

In the event of rain, we will still enjoy our picnic dinner in the sheltered area outside of Frontier Field. You will be able to redeem your tickets for admission to a future Redwings game.

We look forward to enjoying a fun-filled evening with you and your family! PLAY BALL!

In the spirit of our commitment to serve the Rochester community, four members of the Ciccarelli Advisory Services family participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring.

For the third consecutive year, our team assisted Heritage Christian Services with landscaping and yard clean-up at a residential home for people with developmental disabilities.

This year’s participants were (from left to right) Carol Girvin, Carrie Reeves-Hillyard, Mia Kellman and Jordan Ramsay. Carol’s grandsons, Corbin and Mitchell, also assisted in our community service initiative.

“It always feels good to help people in a smaller, personal setting – to be in their home and know that you’re doing something they will appreciate for a long time,” Carrie said. “We all walked away from the experience feeling great about what we accomplished.”

“Seeing us working togther as a team and helping the residents on such a beautiful day…it was perfect!” Mia added.

After the clean-up, our volunteers and one of the residents enjoyed a delicious lunch that was graciously provided by Lucy, the home manager.

At the request of the home, we will lend a helping hand again in the fall!

SpelLIFE
The third annual SpelLIFE Women’s Wellness Summit empowered women in our community to meet like-minded women, interact with local businesses that value lifelong wellness, and gain insight on how to lead richer lives – emotionally, physically and financially.

Gaynell Anderson, owner of Absolute Physical Therapy, co-founded the Women’s Wellness Summit in 2013 with her sister Jill Ciccarelli Rapps, in an effort to provide women in our community with the resources they need to achieve lifelong wellness.

“The mission of SpelLIFE is to motivate women to a pro-active approach to life, using dynamic speakers and valuable community services that center around the eight dimensions of wellness, which SpelLIFE: Spiritual, Physical, Environmental, Leisure, Local, Intellectual, Financial and Emotional,” Anderson said.

The focus of this year’s summit was brain health. Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, author of the New York Times bestseller “My Stroke of Insight”, delivered the keynote address.

dr_jillHer presentation – How to Get Your Brain to Do What You Want it to Do – provided an informative, colorful analysis of how each area of the brain functions.

“The amygdala tells you when you are safe…when you don’t feel safe, it goes ‘Alarm! Alarm! Alert! Alert!’” Dr. Taylor said. “In the present moment your amygdala thinks you are safe. You feel anxious when you worry about the past or the future.”

Dr. Taylor offered concrete recommendations on how to remain in control of your emotions, including what she calls the “90-second rule” – the concept that a thought will trigger an emotional response for only 90 seconds.

“We are not thinking beings who feel; we are feeling beings who think,” she said. “The reason you feel angry for more than 90 seconds at a time is that you stay in a cycle of angry thoughts. Being aware of this gives you the power to be in control.”

The women’s summit also featured five break-out sessions, showcasing experts on a variety of topics related to neurological wellness.

The speakers included Dr. Pamela Gerali, who emphasized the relationship between the human mind and spirit; Dr. William Justiz, who provided insight on diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease; Dr. Pamela Hughes, who outlined the connection between hormones and the brain; and professional organizer Marla Ottenstein, who revealed how peace of mind can be achieved by simplifying your life and getting organized.

One of the break-out sessions focused on helping participants find the purpose in their lives. The presentation was facilitated by several speakers who represented the Blue Zones Project: Lisa Gruenloh, MA, ACC, from Purpose Journey® Consulting, Training and Coaching; Kathy A. Feinstein, MS, from KAF Counseling and Consulting, Inc.; and Dr. Carol Renaud Gaffney from Behavioral Intelligence® Consulting.

In addition, the event featured 27 resource booths, where local businesses interacted with the attendees and demonstrated their commitment to the numerous dimensions of wellness.

Proceeds from the SpelLIFE Women’s Wellness Summit will benefit stroke initiatives at The Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging and Rehabilitation.

The event was sponsored by organizations in our community: Absolute Physical Therapy, the Blue Zones Project by Healthways, Chico’s, Ciccarelli Advisory Services, Ciccarelli Family Foundation, éBella Magazine, Hughes Center for Functional Medicine, Life in Naples Magazine, McKenney Home Care, and the NCH Healthcare System.

This year’s SpelLIFE Women’s Wellness Summit had the largest turnout on record, with more than 340 people in attendance. The event was at 9 a.m. on April 2 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples.

To learn more about next year’s conference – as well as volunteering and sponsorship opportunities – please contact A Euphoric Living Foundation, Inc., at info@spelLIFE.org, or call Jill Ciccarelli Rapps at 239-784-8001.

oct2015 10Saturday, November 14th marked a festive and successful date for our community! Jan and Kim Kantor, co-chairs for the 57th annual NCH Hospital Ball, are pleased to announce “not only did we have an absolute ball at the ball, we raised in excess of $1 million dollars towards improving stroke care delivery to residents and visitors of Collier County.”  Ciccarelli Advisory Services and the Ciccarelli Family offered their support as presenting sponsors for the evening.

The festively dressed entertainers meandered through the exquisitely dressed ball guests, where gowns and tuxes made it a night for special occasion and great photography. The Chairman’s Reception featured the live auction items of diamonds and a world cruise, with luxury cars awaiting the crowd in the courtyard as they headed for dinner in the Vanderbilt ballroom at the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort. Paul Todd, a featured concert for bid, performed in the Silent Auction Reception where phones were busy with electronic bids on travel, wines, sports items, and dining experiences, the multitude of items graciously donated.

Music and entertainers led the guests through the Physician and Nurse honorees greeting line where they stood proudly in front of their photo board display. They were awaiting their salute and the announcement of the “Physician of the Year” and “Nurses of the Year” awards.  In the elegant dining room, tables were set in whites, accented with beautiful florals and the glitter of crystals and candles.  All focus was to center stage where the program began with Peter Busch as the Master of Ceremonies.

The results were a success! A much needed robot was one of the contributions set forth by a donor for $150,000 and a number of attendees raised their paddle to support the “Fund a Need” that was highlighted that evening. The funds raised will be used to support the purchase of a bi-plane at the NCH North Naples Campus. To learn more about the NCH Stroke Program, reach out to the NCH Healthcare Foundation at 239-624-2000.  Watch the magazines and papers for their coverage of a great evening!  Be sure to mark your calendar for next year’s evening of elegance and philanthropy as November 12th is the date for the 58th NCH Hospital Ball hosted by the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort, Naples.
